Recent devastating floods have left various sub-districts and remote areas of Chittagong completely shattered. Although the floodwaters are slowly receding, a severe crisis of food and clean drinking water still grip the affected zones. Countless families are spending their days in hunger. In this critical hour, Rafah Foundation has maintained continuous field-level humanitarian operations to bring comfort and relief to those suffering.
Phase 1: Distribution of Emergency Dry Food and Relief Materials
From the very beginning, Rafah Foundation’s relief distribution team has played an active role across various devastated villages and unions in Chittagong. During the first phase of operations, emergency aid was transported via trucks to the most inaccessible areas. Considering the acute crisis faced by the flood-affected families, pure drinking water, dry food items, and other essential emergency relief supplies were successfully handed over to them.
Phase 2: Delivering Cooked Meals to 1,000 People Completed
Following the distribution of dry food, Rafah Foundation launched a special second-phase initiative to address the immediate hunger of the flood victims. Under this phase, 1,000 packets of freshly cooked food were successfully delivered to numerous families suffering from food scarcity in remote regions. By delivering these prepared meals directly to the hardest-hit and most isolated areas, the hungry were able to receive immediate relief.
Rafah Foundation’s efforts to ease the suffering of these hungry families do not stop here. InshaAllah, this humanitarian campaign will continue progressively to reach even more people trapped in this food crisis.
