With the objective of preserving environmental balance, expanding green coverage, and building a livable environment for future generations, a special tree plantation program was organized by the Rafah Foundation. On Wednesday afternoon (August 13), saplings of various native tree species were planted along both sides of a newly constructed road.
The event was attended by Melandah Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zinnatul Ara, Shampur Union Parishad Chairman Shaidur Rahman Said, Rafah Foundation Accounts Official Faisal Ahmed, District Representative Hafez Ruhul-Amin, alongside other distinguished guests.
During the event, UNO Zinnatul Ara stated, “Planting trees alone is not enough; we must ensure proper care and conservation of the planted saplings. At the same time, emphasis must be placed on generating public awareness to tackle the adverse impacts of climate change.” She also highly commended Rafah Foundation for taking such a initiative.
